Request to Drop/Withdraw from a Developmental Course
Note to student: As an EKU student, you are required to enroll in needed developmental courses during your first and each subsequent semester of enrollment at the University, excluding summer, until courses are completed. Students may only undertake *two* attempts at completing each needed course. Each semester of enrollment at the University counts as an attempt at needed developmental coursework whether or not you choose to enroll in needed courses. If you do not complete all needed developmental classes before you have attained 45 attempted hours of enrollment, you will receive a developmental dismissal from the University. Please speak to your academic advisor or the Director of Academic Readiness before making the decision to withdraw from a developmental course. It is important that you are made fully aware of alternatives for completing developmental courses, or the possible repercussions from withdrawing from a course.
- During week 1 of a 16-week fall or spring semester, students may drop any class online using EKU Direct. No drop fee is assessed. You do not need to complete this form.
